Lord,
In my moments of doubt, do not distance Yourself,
unless in Your wisdom You believe it to be for my good.
Where my doubt runs the risk of undermining others’ faith,
guard them with your love, and strengthen them with hope.
Where there is integrity in my heart, respect my honesty.
Where my stubbornness needs softening,
do it with the rigour that effects a lasting change.
And Lord, thank You for the commitment You put in our hearts towards others,
and for the desire we have to encourage each other in relating to You.
Help each of us to be faithful followers of You
setting an example and drawing on Your strength,
realising that transformation only comes through encountering
You whose desire to meet us surpasses our desire to be met.
