Session Two:
‘A TESTIMONY STRENGTHENED’ AND ‘CATCHING UP WITH JOHN’
In this second session we will see how Jesus met the women as they made their way back from the tomb to speak to the disciples.
We will then look at a possible personal encounter that Peter had with Jesus as implied in Luke 24:34.

PRAYER & REFLECTION
End your time as a group, or individually, in a time of prayer.
If it is helpful, below is a written prayer you can use as a reflection on the two encounters that we have looked at in this session.
Lord,
I long to be a credible witness for You,
swift to obey and ready to speak.
Make my words relevant and full of conviction.
Set my heart right, moved by love and concern.
Make my thoughts clear, so my mind brings You worship.
Set me as Your witness, saying what I know to be true.
Meet my longings with the power of Your presence.
Let my life speak in oneness with my words.
And in those moments when I am struggling to set things right with You,
do not deprive me of the sense of Your goodness.
When I am seeking to punish myself in anticipation of your wrath,
remind me that staying away from You is not the answer.
When I am tempted to wallow in self-pity, break into my world and shine Your light.
When I am pressurising You for full restoration, remind me of the wisdom of Your ways.
In facing You, give me penitent grace.
Amen
